A new web system for the Internet of things called "SyBrick" is launched by Synaptic Ubiquitous Computing Lab. SyBrick is a "lego" based system for the web of things where the user can put together sensor modules of their choice and needs. The system is flexible and scalable which new services are continuously developed on the web.

The challenge of the Internet of things today is to develop effective and afford able products that are easy to use (Plug & Play) and be flexible enough to adapt to every day life. SyBrick is developed with respect to efficiently provide the use of automated services according to need and desire. The modular system can be assembled as a complete wireless sensing system, baby monitors or various types of gauges. Depending on the user's needs and wishes. Furthermore, each module is setup to communicate with each other or against the Web. The different pieces can be connected using standard USB plug. There are pieces (brick) for all kinds of purposes such as temperature sensor, Radon gas monitor, camera, microphone, smoke detector, motion detector, meters, sound detector, radio, display etc. with ongoing development of new modules. The special feature of the system is that it can be developed from the Web by any of the 50 million developer world wide.
